AnglerPermit Canada
Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 20, 2026 · Last updated: August 20, 2026
We only ask for the information a provincial licensing portal needs, we protect it, and we never sell it. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why.
1. Who we are
AnglerPermit Canada (canada.anglerpermit.com) is a private licence-assistance service and the Canadian service of AnglerPermit. We help anglers prepare, review and purchase provincial fishing licences. We are not a government agency.
2. Information we collect
- Contact details — name, email address, mailing and residential address, phone number.
- Date of birth and residency status, which determine your licence category and price.
- Physical descriptors (such as height, eye colour or hair colour) where a province requires them on a licence.
- Government-identification details needed for licensing, such as a driver's licence or outdoors card number, when the province requires them.
- Payment information is handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
3. How and why we use your information
We use your information to prepare, review and purchase your licence on the official provincial portal, to deliver your licence and related documents, to answer your support requests, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We never sell your information and we never use it for third-party marketing.
4. Government identification numbers
Identification numbers are collected only when a province requires them to issue your licence. They are encrypted in transit, masked in notifications and internal logs, and retained only as long as needed to complete and support your application.
6. Data retention
We keep application records only as long as needed to deliver your licence, provide support, handle renewals you have asked us about, and satisfy legal, tax and audit requirements. After that, records are deleted or anonymized.
7. How we protect your information
All data travels over 256-bit SSL-encrypted connections. Access to application records is restricted to authorized staff who need it to process your application, and it is protected by access controls and authentication.
8. Your rights and choices
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it. Email support@anglerpermit.com and we will respond promptly, consistent with Canada's federal private-sector privacy law (PIPEDA). Withdrawing consent before we purchase your licence means we cannot complete the application, and your payment is refunded.
10. Children's privacy
Our service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Where a province allows a licence to be issued to a minor, a parent or guardian must submit the application on the minor's behalf.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service or the law changes. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
